La HFPA Hollywood Foreign Press Association ha assegnato in sordina i Golden Globes 2008, giunti alla 65esima Edizione, durante una inedita e scarna conferenza stampa con l'annuncio dei vincitori in diretta, ospiti, video interviste, clip sui film in concorso, retrospettive e speciali sulle feste mondane organizzate durante la notte in occasione dell'evento.

Golden Globes 2008 all'insegna di polemiche e boicottaggi: la cerimonia che avrebbe dovuto aver luogo al Beverly Hilton di Beverly Hills è stata cancellata in seguito al boicottaggio da parte della Writers Guild of America, la gilda degli sceneggiatori di Hollywood, supportati dalla Screen Actors Guild (SAG) che aveva comunicato ufficialmente che nessuno dei propri membri avrebbe oltrepassato i picchetti "promessi" dagli sceneggiatori in protesta per sfilare sul red carpet.
La manifestazione dei Golden Globes di quest'anno è stata chiaramente AFFOSSATA, sia dalla Screen Actors Guild che dalla Writers Guild of America, per gli americanissimi Oscar sarà tutt'altra musica ma intanto le distanze tra Oscar e Golden Globes sono state nuovamente e deliberatamente rimarcate.

Non mancano neppure le critiche ai Golden Globes in quanto organizzazione e manifestazione premiante di riferimento, come gli accesi ed irritati attacchi da parte di Peter Sciretta di /Film (Link), recentemente premiato ai Performancing Blog Awards 2007 come Miglior Blog di Cinema e Intrattenimento, e di FirstShowing (Link), premiato come miglior Editore nella categoria Cinema e Intrattenimento.
Questi attacchi sono stati simultanei e non casuali, provenienti da una Rete web diametralmente opposta a quella che vige in Italia, una cinesfera nella quale se vali e se sei supportato dai numeri vieni premiato e supportato da Case di Produzione e Sponsors.


Sostanzialmente dunque queste prestigiose fonti hanno mosso un attacco significativo che certamente non passerà inosservato, critiche parzialmente condivisibili seppure in puro stile conservatore a stelle e strisce, mentre per l'Italia ha risposto un cineblogger che ha le qualità per poter controbattere perchè si incentra su opinioni, cultura e conoscenza il suo credo cinematografico quotidiano: The Director's Cup (Link) [Buon Compleanno!].

Personalmente sono assolutamente daccordo sul fatto che la giuria della HFPA sia palesemente ed eccessivamente ristretta, così come quest'anno non ho affatto apprezzato le Nominations - GOLDEN GLOBES NOMINATIONS VINCONO GLI ESCLUSI - tuttavia ritengo che ogni attacco e/o critica che sfoci palesemente nel mancato rispetto del lavoro altrui non sia una buona critica costruttiva.

Da parte mia, accolgo con piacere le vittorie di Marion Cotillard (La Vie en Rose) Migliore Attrice Protagonista in una Commedia o Musical, Johnny Depp (Sweeney Todd) Migliore Attore Protagonista in una Commedia o Musical, Ratatouille Miglior Film d'Animazione, Cate Blanchett (I'm not there) Migliore Attrice Non Protagonista, Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men) Migliore Attore Non Protagonista, David Duchovny Migliore Attore in una Serie televisiva Commedia o Musical e del compositore italiano Dario Marianelli per la Migliore Colonna Sonora Originale per Espiazione.
